This blend strikes a balance between the power of Cabernet and the fruit characters of Merlot. Blended from all five varietals, Mystae typically begins with a bouquet of developed fruit that will increase in complexity under proper cellar conditions for a decade or more. The “Mystae” were ancient Greek philosophers and followers of Dionysus (the Greek God of Wine), who sought a deeper understanding of the universe’s mysteries.

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES:
The wine unveils itself with an opaque scarlet colour and a purple hue at the glass edge. Initially restrained, its first aroma is reminiscent of wine gums before it reveals a bouquet of violet, elder flower and a subtle hint of pepper. Upon the first sip, blue and red fruits cascade across the mid-palate before caramel, sweet cigar and molasses emerge and are underpinned with subtle baking spice. The tannins here are as smooth and seamless as the integration of oak and leave a persistent coating across the palate and a long finish. As is often the case, this Mystae is a wine that invites contemplation and can be enjoyed now, but time in the cellar will only give you more to ponder.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
