'Firm, long and very smooth shiraz that holds its 15% of alcohol with relative ease. Its peppery, spicy fragrance is a complex one, with briary blackberry, cassis and slightly meaty aromas of dark olives offset by sweet milk chocolate and vanilla oak. Very intense and assertive, its long, smooth palate of deep blackberry, redcurrant and dark plum flavours is bound firm yet fine tannins. There's some spirity warmth, plus a suggestion of tarry, spicy current-like flavour. Long and complete, it finishes with just a hint of mint and menthol.'
Jeremy Oliver - Wine Annual 2006.
92 /100 Points James Halliday
Densely coloured; rich, plush blackberry, dark chocolate and vanilla; good balance in epic style.
91/100 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Meaty, burnt sugary aromas are deep. On the palate, tannins are chewy and red fruit is dressed up with coffee and mocha; coffee continues through the long finish. Bears some resemblance to the 1994 Reserve Shiraz, which is still going strong.
Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
