Whether it's shaving off a few seconds at the finish line in a three-legged race at your offspring's sports day or an all-night Breaking Bad marathon, we all aim to excel in beating our own Personal Best (PB).

Peter Barry however, wasn't even competing when he created his own Personal Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Shiraz, but his friends and family loved it so much that they urged him to create more, thus creating his own PB trademark wine.

Bold, bulky and bursting with vibrant fruits of black cherry and plum, we can only thank his family for offering such sage advice.

The late Jim Barry was a pioneer of the Australian wine industry. He was the first qualified winemaker to work in the Clare Valley of South Australia and with his wife, Nancy, built a successful wine business, which has produced trophy-winning wines since its establishment in 1959. Today, Jim’s second son Peter, who took over from his father as Managing Director, heads the company.

Peter completed his degree in Oenology at Roseworthy Agricultural College and returned home to Jim Barry Wines to help to develop and expand the company’s vineyards in the Clare Valley. Jim Barry now own and operate six vineyards in the Clare Valley and Coonawarra, which amount 635 acres in total.

Producing elegant, high quality wine such as this blend with a bouquet of mulberry, satsuma and dark vine fruits. Peter insists on drinking it with good friends and loved ones.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
