A Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated Bordeaux blend, the deep garnet/purple-colored 2012 Larose presents a nose of cassis, ripe black plums and black cherries with suggestions of cigar box, cedar, bay leaves and toast. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound at this youthful stage, though gives plenty of blackberry and toasty flavors wrapped in a medium level of finely grained tannins and refreshing acidity. It finishes with very good length. Drink it 2014 to 2024+. Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Stonyridge - Larose - Cabernet Sauvignon  Merlot  Malbec  Petit Verdot  Cabernet Franc  Carmenere - 2012 - 750mL

2012 was a very long ripening season. We started later and finished later than ever
before in the history of winemaking at Stonyridge. This gave the fruit good hang-time to develop maximum flavour potential. Extensive vendange verte (green harvest), especially on our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, post fruit set gave us great concentration and dry extract in the resulting wine. During the harvest period, the
weather was ideal, allowing us to pick fruit at optimal ripeness and balance.

The 2012 Larose shows great intensity and purity. Dark, wild, brambly berry fruit with freshly ground cinnamon and cardamon underpinned with cedar, pencil shavings and vanilla from the 55% new oak component make for a complex and intriguing nose. On the palate, 2012 Larose at this tender age is taut and firm with wonderful length, an underlying generosity of sweet fruit promises excellent cellaring potential. This wine matches well with steak and other red meats.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
