2022 Domaine Baudouin Millet Petit Chablis 750mL - 12 Bottle Pack
Est. range:
Tax included.
Unusually for a Chablis domaine, Baudouin Millet has much more Petit Chablis than AOC Chablis (region-wide there is about three times more Chablis than Petit Chablis).
They have nine hectares of Petit Chablis located in the far south-east of the region, just within the commune of Poilly-sur-Serein. The vines are approaching 40 years of age, and were the initial plantings by Philippe Millet in the early 1980s.
Picked late compared to the viticultural norm, it was fermented and matured in enamel-lined steel tank, resting on its lees for about six months (they also release an extended lees PC bottling called La Perle). It saw full malolactic fermentation.
This Petit Chablis is light yellow in colour with green highlights, limpid and brilliant. The nose is pleasant, revealing citrus notes and floral scents. On the palate, the attack is rich and aromatic; the wine is well balanced, with good tension and persistence, revealing a mineral note as it evolves.
----
Though Domaine Baudouin Millet is a producer of superb value classic Chablis it has a decidedly non-classical background. Long-time cereal farmer Philippe Millet only turned his hand to grape growing in the 1980s, subsequently aided by his sons Paterne and Baudouin. The domaine changed name to Baudouin Millet in 2011, when the younger son fully assumed the reins of the wine side of the business.
Today the domaine encompasses nine hectares of AOC Petit Chablis, based near Poilly-sur-Serein, four hectares of AOC Chablis in Beru and Viviers
in the south east of the region, plus one hectare in 1er Cru Vaucoupin. They also source fruit from Les Preuses and Vaudesir to release tiny amounts
of Grand Cru, plus there is some Bourgogne Blanc and Cremant de Bourgogne. The family winery is in the village of Tonnerre, to the east of Chablis.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
