Introduction:
Immerse yourself in the refined elegance of Margaux with the 2020 Château Palmer. This vintage showcases the silky texture and complex bouquet that are hallmarks of a truly great Margaux. Château Palmer is often hailed as a "Super Second," a testament to its quality that rivals even the esteemed Premier crus.

Vinification and Terroir:
The vineyard stretches across 66 hectares with a planting density of 10,000 vines/ha and an average vine age of 35 years. The soil composition of gravel, clay, and sand contributes to the nuanced aromas and flavors of the wine. This vintage comprises 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6% Petit Verdot, aged in a combination of new barrels and foudre which enhances its elegance and complexity.

Tasting Notes:
The 2020 Château Palmer exudes a bouquet of blackcurrants, violets, and lilacs, with a palate that offers a luxurious texture and layers of black cherries, chocolate, and subtle spices. Its robust structure and velvety tannins culminate in a long and elegant finish, embodying the quintessence of Margaux's finesse.

The wine's robust structure suggests it can mature beautifully for up to 30 years, enhancing its complexity and elegance over time.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
