Description: Immerse yourself in the luxurious depth of Château Pichon Longueville au Baron de Pichon-Longueville Grand Cru Classé 2009, a standout vintage from one of Bordeaux's most prestigious estates. This exquisite 750 mL bottle represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship and the rich winemaking heritage of the Pauillac appellation, making it a must-have for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Tasting Notes: The 2009 vintage showcases a beautifully structured blend of robust tannins and vibrant acidity, encapsulating the best qualities of Pauillac. The nose is a complex array of blackcurrant, plum, and tobacco, with subtle hints of cedar and spice. On the palate, it unfolds with layers of ripe dark fruits, intertwined with notes of chocolate and coffee, leading to a long, opulent finish.

Vinification: Crafted with meticulous care, the grapes undergo rigorous selection before fermentation, ensuring only the best quality. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels to develop its distinctive smoothness and depth.

Ratings and Reviews:

  • Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate: 98 points - "A profound and complex wine with deep layers of flavor and a long finish. Potential to age beautifully. Revealing incredible quality and performing better than it did from barrel, the 2009 appears to be the greatest Pichon Longueville Baron since the 1990 and 1989. An amazing opaque blue/purple color is followed by scents of spring flowers, graphite, smoky charcoal, incense, blackberries, blueberries and hints of coffee and chocolate. Incredibly intense, pure and flawlessly constructed with extravagant layers of fruit and richness, this offering has developed beautifully under the management of Christian Seeley. It is a voluptuous, opulent Pichon Longueville Baron that may eclipse anything they have made in the past. This brilliant wine should be at its peak between 2018 and 2045." (January, 2012)
  • Wine Spectator: 97 points - "Richly layered and expressive, with exceptional balance and length. A truly magnificent wine."
  • James Suckling: 96 points - "Intense and full-bodied, with great finesse and elegance. Ready to drink now but will continue to evolve."

Cellaring Potential: While already stunning, the 2009 Château Pichon Longueville has the structure and balance to continue evolving in the cellar. With proper storage, it can be enjoyed over the next two decades, developing greater complexity and aromatic richness.
