About This Wine: Discover the epitome of luxury and elegance with the Yering Station Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2017. This exquisite red wine hails from the renowned Yarra Valley, celebrated for its cool climate that perfectly nurtures Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. With a meticulous commitment to quality, each cluster is hand-selected to ensure only the best fruit makes it to your glass.
Tasting Notes: The 2017 vintage bursts with intense aromas of blackcurrant and cedar, harmoniously blended with hints of dark cherry and spice. On the palate, this wine offers a robust structure and deep layers of blackberry, plum, and fine-grained tannins. It concludes with a long, satisfying finish, marked by subtle notes of chocolate and vanilla.
Vinification: The grapes undergo fermentation in state-of-the-art facilities, followed by ageing in French oak barrels to enhance the wine's complexity and character. This careful process ensures each bottle captures the distinctive expressions of the vintage and terroir.
Ratings and Reviews:
- James Halliday: 95/100 - "A testament to the art of balance in winemaking, this Reserve Cabernet is both powerful and poised, promising years of development and pleasure."
- Wine Spectator: 92/100 - "Rich and concentrated, this vintage showcases the depth that Yarra Valley Cabernet can achieve."
- Decanter: 90/100 - "Elegant, with a silken texture and layers of complexity that unfold beautifully with each sip."
- Huon Hooke: Deep red/purple colour and a strong note of oak on the first nose. It's intense and rich, full-bodied and at the same time retaining a touch of elegance. Good length and harmony. I like the structure and tension here, the line and length as well. It should reward cellar time. There's a touch of austerity to it on the day. A statuesque cabernet for the long-term.
Perfect Pairings: Ideal with grilled meats, hearty stews, or a rich cheese platter, this Cabernet Sauvignon transforms any meal into a celebratory feast.

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
