UPDATE: Tasted 13-2-25

Its amazing a wine made to be consumed young within 6-8 years, is still holding together very well indeed at 22 years old. It's a testament to the team at Two Hands (well done Matt Wenk) that the wine is still very drinkable without decanting or fussing. Pop the Cork using an 'ah-so' (not a corkscrew) - you will notice the corks are close to end of life but not leaking. For what was a $65 wine on release, its evidence that great storage goes a very long way to getting the best out of the bottles.

Tasting Note:

Less full bodied that most McLaren Vale Shiraz's, 14.5% ABV, 2003 was a hot year and I was filly expecting the wine to have some stewed fruit character, but none prevail, thankfully. Amazingly still some acid up front, mid weight palate, vanilla, spice and everything in balance. We enjoyed it with Pepperoni Pizza. You wont be dissapointed, an easy midweek drinker. Finish your allocation within 12 months.

----------

Opaque black crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose, with aroma of vanilla, ripe plum and cedar, followed by a hint of violets. The palate has good weight, with flavours of ripe plum and spice to the forefront, followed by a black pepper back palate sensation. Fine grained tannins, with aftertaste of plum, spice, black pepper, black currant and liquorice.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
