Review

91 Points Robert Parker

A Bordeaux blend of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Larose offers a medium garnet color and slight sweaty saddles, iodine and Band-Aid characters over a core of preserved black berries and black forest cake plus a cedary undercurrent. Medium-bodied with plenty of mature fruit remaining on the palate and firm, chewy tannins, it has good persistence.

_____

Stonyridge - Larose - Cabernet Sauvignon  Merlot  Malbec  Petit Verdot  Cabernet Franc  Carmenere - 2009 - 750mL

The 2009 is characterised by its elegance, power and
ripeness with a focus on balance, length and texture. It is deeply coloured and the nose is dense and complex with magnificently lifted aromatics, a mix of lifted violet florals, sweet dried herbs, cassis and black plum with blackberry and spiced truffle. The palate has power, great extraction and depth, yet is elegant. The fruit is layered beautifully with a bounty of flavours: cassis, black plum, spiced bramble, chocolate and coffee. The firm, yet ripe, tannins give a lovely supple texture and the finish has great length and finesse.

The 2009 Larose is still so youthful, but with massive potential. The bouquet is reminiscent of wildflowers and wild berries with some savoury roast meat characters starting to develop. On the palate the structure is still firm and tightly wound. Luscious fruit through the mid-palate, promises great potential for the coming years, wonderful length!

Encépagement: Cabernet Sauvignon 52%, Malbec 18%, Petit Verdot 15%, Merlot
10%, Cabernet Franc 5%

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
