A unique creation

L’inattendue is an illustration of one of the principles of savoir-faire that has guided the House since its foundation: the cultivation of the diversity of Champagne terroirs. It reveals a terroir through a singular year and a unique grape variety.

“Henriot L’inattendue 2018 offers a generous, exotic, gourmet profile, particularly expressive, with the well-known characteristics of the Chouilly cru. The nose is powerful and elegant. It reveals fresh yellow fruit, pineapple, vanilla notes and a hint of petrol. The palate is ample, round, with a velvety texture and an extraordinary freshness that is unique for 2018, giving it great length.”

Alice Tétienne - Cellar Master of Maison Henriot

Winery

Founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, Maison Henriot‘s philosophy is shaped through a strong attachment to Champagne’s
vineyards and terroirs, cultivating a unique savoir-faire giving the House its distinctive signature. Originally nestled at the
heart of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, the vineyard has now expanded to 29 crus, each holding a significant
place in Maison Henriot’s history. Each cuvée reflects the diversity of the House, the essence of its terroirs, and the finesse of its
craftsmanship, embodying generosity, distinction, and elegance. For more than two centuries, Maison Henriot has perpetuated
these creations which reflect the greatest moments in the history of Champagne while proactively engaging with new environmental
challenges.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
