Description: Dive into the rich tapestry of flavors with our exclusive Greenock Creek Mataro 2015. This remarkable blend from the celebrated Barossa Valley marries the robust Mataro grapes with the sumptuous Shiraz to create a wine that's both vigorous and beautifully balanced. Exhibiting a deep, vibrant ruby color, our Mataro Shiraz opens with an inviting bouquet of dark berries, spicy plum, and hints of black pepper and vanilla.
Tasting Notes: On the palate, this wine delivers a complex array of black cherry, raspberry, and hints of licorice, supported by a backbone of firm tannins and a smooth, lingering finish. The full-bodied texture and engaging acidity make this wine a perfect pair for rich dishes like braised beef, hearty stews, or a charcuterie board with aged cheeses.
Vinification: The grapes for the 2015 vintage were handpicked from the oldest vineyards in the Greenock region of Barossa Valley, known for its concentrated fruit and exceptional terroir. Fermented in traditional open-tanks, the wine was then aged in oak barrels to integrate its flavors and achieve the perfect balance between its structural tannins and vibrant fruit.
