Tasting Notes
palate
Red currant flavors and sweet fruit. Soft and round tannins, enhancing the fresh and mellow character. Crisp and young, with medium structure. It may age well, enhancing the great Nebbiolo character.

Il Nebbio is our young and fresh expression of such a great and noble grape variety as Nebbiolo. Since a few years we have decided to add a little portion of Pinot Noir as well. Sourced from a selection of our vineyards in the Barolo area in Serralunga d'Alba, in Treiso in the Barbaresco area, in Diano d'Alba and Trezzo Tinella. Early harvested.
vinification
Short maceration followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
maturation
In stainless steel tanks until the bottling in the month of March, after the harvest. No wood ageing.
Winery
Pio Cesare have been making wines in their ancient cellars in central Alba for 141 years, from their vineyards based primarily in Barolo and Barbaresco. Today, fifth generation Federica Boffa with her cousin Cesare Benvenuto lead this prestigious estate, after the untimely passing of Pio Boffa in 2021 after 40 years as the face of Pio Cesare. The winegrowing is sustainable and the winemaking largely traditional resulting in wines of great elegance, structure and purity.

What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
