VINTAGE NOTES

In Stonyridge’s nearly 40-year history, 2023 stands out as a challenging yet triumphant chapter. Unprecedented weather events, including two intense rainfalls and a cyclone, impacted the vintage, resulting in significantly reduced yields.
Despite these challenges, a warmer-than-average season provided good ripeness, and  meticulous vineyard practices, such as mole-ploughing and canopy work, helped mitigate potential issues. Vigilance during harvest allowed for careful selection,
though the overall volume was considerably lower.
Thanks to Stonyridge’s predominantly north-facing slopes and thorough mole ploughing practices, we successfully avoided soil saturation. Preemptive canopy work earlier in the summer prepared us for the obstacles ahead, allowing us to meticulously hand-select the finest fruit during harvest, albeit with a noticeable decrease in yield.

TASTING NOTES

A symphony of flavours, the Larose 2023 showcases the vibrancy and finesse that define the vintage. Deep ruby in colour, the wine boasts an aromatic profile of Cassis, blackberries, dark cherries, and hints of cigar box. The palate is rich and full-bodied,
with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. This wine stands as a testament to the artistry and resilience of our vineyard and winemaking team.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
