Pale green/yellow in colour. Soft butterscotch, peach, apricot, lime, nutmeg and floral characters highlight the nose. Honey, quince, spice and cedar characters compliment the well balanced yet voluptuous palate. Firm acidity and elegant oak compliment the palate of this fine wine. Excellent flavour ripeness was achieved between 12.5 and 13.0 Baume.

The grapes were hand harvested between the 15th of March and the 25h of April. The grapes were whole bunch pressed by membrane vacuum press and allowed to settle overnight at 5’c. The resultant clear juice was racked with some fine lees to 50% stainless steel, Francois Frere and Sequin Moreau puncheons (3 + years) and 20% new oak. Fermentation was carried out at 18 to 23’c degrees Celsius for between 2 and 3 weeks. Barrels were lees stirred once per fortnight for 12 months.

The wine was then protein stabilised and allowed to cold stabilise at minus 2 degrees Celsius for 1 month then sterile filtered and bottled.

-----------

Artemis wines are produced by the Balog family in the Southern Highlands region. Winemaker brothers, Anton and Mark Balog began making wine here in 1996 with passion to produce wines of European complexity and structure with intense Australian varietal definition.

We teamed up with Anton to bring frankly superb cool climate Pinot Noir from NSW from his estate to our portfolio and with luck into the glasses of Sydney and Melbourne showcasing what an emerging region we have on our doorstep with some great winemaking a contemporary labelling.

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
