Named after David Wynn's youngest son, Wynns Michael Shiraz is only being produced when the vintage condition in Coonawarra is exceptional. It showcases the unique terroir of the region and with the 2012 release, it displays the qualities that really set it apart with other in the same category. With aromas of red currants, cherries and raspberry that mesh every so well with the olive and white spice characters. The palate follows with an elegant structure bursting with dark brooding spice and succulent ripe tannins. Provided with the correct conditions, this could easily be a cellar star.

----

"Perfumed and musky, meaty and earthy, with pristine dark fruits, restrained oak and gentle, crunchy tannins. Long and supremely elegant." - Jeremy Oliver

"Coonawarra shiraz is an interesting conversation. A dialogue between cool climate precision, mid-palate warmth and a certain austerity that is far from, say, the exuberant floral persuasion of Beechworth, Yarra or the Canberra region. This wine more than compensates with a skein of energetic peppery acidity threading liquorice, thyme and black and blue fruit all with a fine boned tannic needle. There is plenty of oak, but ample intensity and concentration of fruit, too, reassuring the drinker that all will gel effortlessly with patience." - James Halliday Wine Companion 2019

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
