Mount Pleasant Lovedale Semillon 2018
"Light-mid yellow colour; an intense bouquet of lemongrass, with subtle toastiess from bottle-age, while the palate is quite powerful, ample and dry, savoury and appetising yet also has a touch of richness less usual in this style of wine. Intense, tightly focused flavour creates a powerful palate impression and lasts long on the aftertaste. The lemon/lemongrass and savoury developed characters persist long ater the wine has gone." 96 Points, Huon Hooke, The Real Review
"This iconic semillon is made from block LO-07 of the Lovedale Vineyard, planted on a sandy, ancient seabed in '46 by Maurice O'Shea. Like all 2018s, the wine is boldly flavoured and generous in proportion, with a pillowy mid-palate bursting with fresh pear, lime curd and a touch of smoked almond. As the wine will only expand with time, I would enjoy it now with its lovely mix of richness and freshness." 95 Points, Toni Paterson, Halliday Wine Companion
"Considered by many to be the finest expression of straight semillon, be it here or anywhere else. Scents of lanolin, lemon drop, wild fennel and a hint of something soapy and broad, verging on buttered toast. A softer vintage befitting earlier drinking perhaps, but still a magnificent featherweight, destined for a life of 10 to 12 years. Transparent, highly regional and thoroughly convincing. An inimitable wine of terroir." 94 Points, James Suckling - Ned Goodwin
"Lots of lime and honey nuts, floral. Intense lime and lemon power is turned up in 2018, with a lot of flavour, some toast creeping in, fine powdery/chalky texture, and lemon curd richness with lemon zest and crunchy acidity on a long finish. Plenty of grunt, though of course it’s still a fine Semillon." 95 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Buying At Auction?
Your Questions, Answered
What do you need from me to get started?
We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.
How many wines are in each Lot?
You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.
Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?
All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.
How much is the Buyers' Commission?
We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.
What are your freight charges?
Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.
Is there a Guarantee on my wine?
Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
