This blend is dominated by deep press fractions of Cabernet Sauvignon and is reminiscent of a “Left Bank” Bordeaux-style wine. Optimum balance and character are achieved through the addition of free-run and press fractions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Fine, dense tannins give this wine great structure and long-term ageing potential. The name Magna Praemia is Latin for “great rewards.”

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES:
Vibrant, youthful and deeply coloured in the glass, the nose is an explosion of smashed blackberries and cherry notes with subtle hints of lavender and thyme lying under the surface. The first taste delivers the rich and generous berry qualities indicated by the aromatics and has fresh acidity supporting the fore/mid-palates while the oak is subtle and restrained in the shadow of the overall concentration. On further exploration, the aromatics express Cabernet Franc’s characteristic musk, followed by graphite, and hints of vanilla/caramel. With a long finish, licorice and tobacco leaf notes, this wine will certainly unlock its true potential in the cellar for decades to come.
ENJOY FROM: 4-20+ years from vintage

Buying At Auction?

Your Questions, Answered

What do you need from me to get started?

We will need you to confirm that you are over 18 (for obvious reasons!) and to open an account by registering on the site. This will include provision of credit card details for any eventual purchases. You will also need to sign that you have read the terms and conditions.

How many wines are in each Lot?

You will see the quantity (number of bottles) stated above the price. Please note that the bid-price is per bottle so you will need to multiply the price by the number of bottles in the lot to calculate the total price of the lot.

Can I cancel my bid if I change my mind?

All bids are final - please think before you confirm your bid.

How much is the Buyers' Commission?

We have an extremely competitive buyers' commission of 16.5% (GST inclusive). This will be added to the final winning price of your Lot at the end of the auction.

What are your freight charges?

Please see our Delivery Policy for full details relating to freight.

Is there a Guarantee on my wine?

Under Australian law, consumer guarantees do not apply to goods purchased at auction - all such purchases are at the risk of the Buyer. We will always provide as much detail as we can as to the visual condition and provenance of each Lot, however this is done so as a guide rather than as a guarantee.
